a windy city on a friday

A random day off of work always does me (and him) a world of good, especially when it is used to breathe in fresh air and fresh flowers.

Uh, yeah, so anyway, can we get back to that 'spring' thing now?

a sign of the days ahead

The season is turning ever so slightly towards light warm days. On this, a gorgeously mild day, this was the scene as I walked my pup to the dog park after work.

so raise a glass to turnings of the season, 
and watch it as it arcs towards the sun

so, we had this little snowstorm here last night...

...and the news media made it out to be this destructive life force (that it wasn't). 

and schools are closed and flights are delayed (for now). 

and the highways this morning were a little quieter, a little slower (for once). 

and some people probably (wisely) stayed home from work. 

and tobogganing hills were in need of some fresh snow (and a snow day's worth of kidlets). 

and it's the perfect weather for a little (irish) hot chocolate. 

and okay, so there will be a lot of shoveling today (so what?).

and it should remind us that we need to give in to the weather now and then (and hopefully, enjoy it every now and then, too).
